| The Beloit Senior Citizens Center was
organized in 1978 and is affiliated with the
North Central - Flint
Hills Area Agency on Aging
(www.ncfhaaa.com). The Beloit Senior
Citizens Board consists of five members. They serve thirty meals a
day plus average nine delivered meals for those unable to drive to
the Center.
Daily programs of interest are presented just before lunch.
The Center is open in the afternoon for recreation and exercises.
Leisure time may also be spent playing various games and bingo.
Programs are presented by the Mitchell County Health
Department and Kansas State Extension. Visits are made by the local
Senator and Representative.
Local residents needing transportation for Doctor
appointments may use the bus provided by the Mitchell County Council
on Aging. A donation is welcome for upkeep of the bus. For those
needing transportation for out of town health related appointments
there is a cost per mile fee. The bus is also available for tours.
The meals for the Beloit Center are coordinated and made at
the Glen Elder Senior Site and distributed to Tipton, Cawker City
and Beloit. This route is a bid contract. |
